Day 1:

  • Flight arrives around 10:30am, cab to the Distrikt Hotel, walk north through Times Square to Central Park
  • Row boats in Central Park, walk a loop through the southern half (about 3 hours)
  • Fancy organic ice cream in Central Park (Scott: currants and cream.  Lindsay: hazelnut)
  • Meet up with Erika, eat at Arriba Arriba mexican restaurant. Very good.
  • Walk Times Square, 5th Ave, 6th Ave, Rockefeller Center, see line for NFL Draft including commissioner Roger Goodell

Day 2:


I decided to catch a taping of a show I watch a lot called Fast Money which airs on CNBC. I made a quick sign in the lobby of our hotel which references an inside joke that I figured the producers would enjoy. Lindsay went up to our hotel room and watched it on the TV. This clip shows the particular commentator’s reaction upon first seeing my sign:

Here they show me holding the “Data Doesn’t Matta” sign:

  • Breakfast: bagels/coffee from street vendor in financial district
  • Boat to Statue of Liberty, climb to crown, boat to Ellis Island, late lunch at Ellis Island museum
  • Scott to see taping of Fast Money in Times Square with sign
  • Meet Erika and Beau for an Off-Broadway play: The Dream of the Burning Boy
  • Dinner at Becco

Day 3:

Day 4:

  • Chelsea all day long
  • Breakfast at The Dish
  • Tribecca Film Festival: “Marathon Boy”
  • Art gallery browsing
  • Late lunch at Ovest Pizzoteca
  • Rest on the Hudson River Greenway, great place to relax
  • Walk along Highline Park
  • Hang out at The Grey Dog coffeehouse
  • Tribecca Film Festival: “Bombay Beach”
  • Scott: $1 pizza slice

Day 5:

  • Walking tour of Greenwich Village
  • Washington Square Park, see Hawk Cam hawks Bobby and Violet
  • Shake Shack with Beau and Erika
  • Brooklyn Bridge Park
